Meet the Speaker: Michael Brown, CEVIAN LEARNING OBJECTIVES
1. Define ambient intelligence (AmI) and explain its role in healthcare environments, including how it enhances patient safety, staff efficiency, and operational responsiveness. 2. Identify key design features and physical space considerations required to support AI-driven systems β such as sensor placement, data zoning, and smart surface integration. 3. Understand the infrastructure backbone β including low-voltage systems, edge computing needs, and structure cabling β that enables real-time data capture, processing, and automation in hospitals. 4. Apply human-centered design principles to integrate technology seamlessly into clinical environments without creating cognitive or operational burden on staff. 5. Evaluate the trade-offs and risks of embedding intelligent systems in physical spaces, including privacy, scalability, and interoperability.
